Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni achieved yet another notable milestone in his glittering IPL career on Friday (September 25) as he became the most capped player in the history of the cash rich T20 league.

MS Dhoni equaled fellow CSK team mate  Suresh Raina's record for 193 appearances in the IPL when he led CSK in Game 7 of the 2020 IPL at Dubai on Friday (September 25).

The 39-year seasoned campaigner who became the joint most capped player while leading his team against Delhi Capitals, suffered a second straight loss in the ongoing season after DC beat CSK by 44 runs in the IPL encounter played at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.

CSK had won their opening encounter against defending champions Mumbai Indians on September 19 at Abu Dhabi but have lost their next two games to Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC).

One of the legends of IPL and an cricketing icon for CSK, Dhoni has been one of the most successful skippers in the history of the league and also is regarded as a finisher par excellence, spearheading many memorable wins for the 3-time champions.

Dhoni is the only skipper to have registered 100 wins while leading a  franchise in the IPL. Under his captaincy, CSK have won 3 titles (2010, 2011, 2018) and made it to the playoffs in all their seasons. CSK also have the record for making the most finals (9) under MS Dhoni.

In a decade long IPL career, Dhoni has racked up 4461 runs in 193 matches at a phenomenal strike rate of 137.94 representing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rising Pune Super Giants (RPS)
