IPL 2020: MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will look for a comeback when they lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League clash on Friday. The team started with a victory against defending champions Mumbai Indians, but since then it has faced two defeats and is now placed at the bottom of the points table.

However, the team would be revived with the return of middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu, who is likely to make a return after missing out on the previous two encounters. Also, 2 times purple cap holder Dwayne Bravo is likely to play today's match. Bravo's performance with bat and ball can turn the tables towards and the heavyweights can have their edge again.

The Southern Derby, as is the showdown between Chennai and Hyderabad is branded, has traditionally seen the match going in favour of Chennai. Of the 13 matches that have taken place between the two sides, 10 have been won by the Super Kings while only 3 have seen the Sunrisers triumph.

Of these 13 matches, one took place in UAE too where CSK had emerged victorious. When it comes to the franchises' overall record at this specific venue, both CSK and SRH have played three games each, winning two apiece.

For SRH, the return of Kane Williamson surely worked well for the franchise as their fragile middle-order now looks solid, with skipper David Warner and Jonny Bairstow leading from the front.

The duo of Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar too produced the goods as SRH were back to defending average totals to record their first win.

While Sam Curran has been a great asset for CSK so far, it needs to be seen whether Dwayne Bravo plays his first match or not after getting a go in the nets. Imran Tahir also has a case with Piyush Chawla failing to set the stage on fire.

Probable Top Performers for CSK vs SRH

Shane Watson– Chennai Super Kings

Shane Watson hasn’t had the best of IPLs, having scored only 51 runs at an average of 17. But his numbers against SRH make him a force to reckon with in the next match.

In 16 matches, the right-hander has 523 runs at an average and strike-rate of 37.36 and 150.29 respectively. He has three fifties and a century with a top score of an unbeaten 117. The Sunrisers can’t afford to let him settle.

David Warner– Sunrisers Hyderabad

David Warner hasn’t been at his best, but with scores of 36 and 45, he has started to find his rhythm. The left-hander, against CSK, has six fifties from 14 matches, showing that he likes their bowling attack.

Overall, he has 445 runs at an average and strike-rate of 31.79 and 139.50 respectively. The SRH batting depends heavily on the southpaw and it goes without saying that he will be a key player.
