Rajasthan Royals managed to secure their first points in IPL 13 in their opening encounter on the back of some belligerent knocks by wicket keeper batsman Sanju Samson and skipper Steve Smith, both of whom went on a leather chase smoking massive sixes and boundaries with superlative consistency.
While all the CSK bowlers were at the receiving end and handed a real hammering by the Samson-Smith duo, leg spinner Piyush Chawla suffered the most of the brutal carnage as he conceded 55 runs in his four overs quota.
Samson who hit a staggering 9 sixes in his 74-run game changing knock was particularly severe on Chawla, hitting him out of the park thrice in one over with some towering sixes which landed on the roof of the Sharjah stadium.

Chawla's nightmarish performance caught the eye of CSK fans and they hilariously trolled the leg spinner for being instrumental in the Yellow Army's 16-run defeat in their second game of IPL 13.
"What an innings by Piyush Chawla, 55 runs off just 24 balls," one fan wrote. "Well deserved half-century for Chawla in just 24 balls...," another fan wrote.
Chawla also held the unwanted distinction of leaking the most runs by any after 2 overs. The leggie who was marauded by Samson and Smith, gave away 47 runs off his first 12 deliveries.
