Sunrisers Hyderabad's hard hitting opener David Warner who has struck a purple patch with the willow in the ongoing IPL season added yet a unique batting record to his name with a fifty against Kings XI Punjab on Monday.


Courtesy his fourth consecutive half century of the season, Warner became the first batsman in IPL history to have seven consecutive 50-plus knocks against two teams in the tournament.

Warner who had earlier achieved the feat of registering seven 50-plus scores against Royal Challengers Bangalore between 2014 to 2016, replicated his feat by achieving the same against Kings XI Punjab. Warner who is known to generally fare well at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali has scores of 70*, 51, 52, 58 in his last four innings at Punjab's home ground.

David Warner struck a fluent fifty before Deepak Hooda played a cameo in the final over to help Sunrisers Hyderabad post a challenging 150 for four against Kings XI Punjab.However KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal ensured that the Kings chase down the total without much trouble in front of their home fans at Mohali.
