After registering their maiden victory in IPL 2019, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be aiming to continue the momentum as they are set to lock horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) on Monday.
After a string of losses where nothing worked in their favour, fifties by skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, helped RCB register their maiden win of the season on Saturday night. On the other hand, after suffering a four-wicket loss against Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai would be aiming to get back to winning ways.
Coming to the toss, home team skipper Rohit Sharma has won the toss and decided to bowl first. They have made one change in the playing XI – Alzarri Joseph has dislocated his shoulder so he misses out while Lasith Malinga comes in.
“We're gonna bowl first. The nature of the ground says that it plays better in the second half. Also, it's something our team is good at. Yes, it was a tough loss (against RR) but you need to give them credit. Jos Buttler played a fab knock,” said Rohit at the toss.
On the other hand, RCB have fielded the same XI against Mumbai in today’s game.
“As Rohit said, it's a difficult ground to defend and we're good at chasing. So, we would have bowled first too. Wouldn't want to look too far ahead. Key is to enjoy as many games as we have left. I think we were taking too much pressure in the initial few games and we kept falling back. The guys enjoyed a lot in the last game and showed desire,” said Kohli.
Here are the playing XIs:
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Parthiv Patel(w), Virat Kohli(c), AB de Villiers, Marcus Stoinis, Moeen Ali, Akshdeep Nath, Pawan Negi, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj
