Delhi Capitals' captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first against Chennai Super Kings at the Feroz Shah Kotla at New Delhi on Tuesday.
Both the sides have come into this encounter high on confidence with a win each behind them but it will be the hosts Delhi Capitals that would be under pressure as it is their first home game of the season and also their first after re-branding from Delhi Daredevils.
The Capitals have made one change in their side, bringing in leggie Amit Mishra in place of New Zealand left-arm seamer Trent Boult. There were no changes in the Super Kings side, making it only the third instance in the history of IPL where only six overseas cricketers were playing. The first instance was the CSK vs KKR match way back in 2011 when KKR became the first side to play only two overseas in their playing XI.
The three foreigners for Capitals are Colin Ingram, Keemo Paul and Kagiso Rabada whereas CSK have again gone in with Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo and Imran Tahir
Pitch Report
There is no grass on the pitch and considering the history of Kotla, it shouldn't be a surprise if the ball really starts to turn early on the in the game. Perhaps, that's why the homes captain Iyer chose to bat first.
