New Delhi: The Gujarat Lions have roped in Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan as a replacement for Dwayne Bravo who was ruled out of the tournament on Sunday.
The Vadodra cricketer who failed to find a franchise during the auction, announced his return to the IPL bandwagon through a tweet, where he posed with the Gujarat Lions jersey and wrote, “ looking forward to be a part of this wonderful unit.”
Pathan has joined the Gujarat Lions camp in Bangalore ahead of their clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday.
The 32-year-old has been a part of 5 franchises- Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Daredevils and Rising Pune Supergiant in the past. He has in 102 IPL games, Picking up 80 wickets and scoring 1137 runs at a strike rate of 120.57.
With his addition, the Gujarat Lions will hope for an immediate change in their fortunes who see themselves on 7th position in the points table.
