Former South African opener Herschelle Gibbs holds the record of being the first batter in international cricket to hit six sixes in an over. He achieved this remarkable feat during the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies.


In the history of Indian cricket, four players have accomplished the remarkable feat of hitting six sixes in an over. 


Ravi Shastri: Former head coach of team India, Ravi Shastri, etched his name in cricketing history by smashing six sixes in an over for Mumbai against Baroda at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during the 1984-85 Ranji Trophy season.


Yuvraj Singh: Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, widely regarded as one of the greatest left-handers of all time, left an indelible mark on cricketing history by smashing England pacer Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over during the 2007 T20 World Cup in Durban.


Ruturaj Gaikwad: Maharashtra-born team India batter Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed seven sixes in an over during the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2022. Adding to the feat, the fifth ball of the over was a no ball, and Gaikwad hit a six on that delivery as well. This marked the first instance of a bowler being hit for seven sixes in an over in List A cricket.


Vamshhi Krrishna: In February 2024, Vamshhi Krrishna, representing Andhra Pradesh, achieved a stunning feat by hitting 6 sixes in an over off Railways spinner Damandeep Singh during the Col C K Nayudu Trophy in Kadapa.






Krrishna is the latest addition to the list of Indian batters who have hit six sixes in an over. The feat helped him add his name to the elite list of players who have achieved this rare feat in cricket history.
