India Women Vs South Africa Women T20I Series: South Africa Women's horrendous tour of India ends in a humiliating way, as the hosts deliver Proteas Women a 10-wicket defeat, and in the process, end the series 1-1. India Women were dominant right from the word go and thumped South Africa Women with a clean sweep in ODI and Test series.

However, Laura Woolvardt's side found their redemption in the first T20I, as India Women lost the match by 12 runs. The second T20I got washed out but it was the hosts who made sure they do not end the series without a win, as a 'Pooja Vastrakar Special' bundled out the visitors for merely 84 runs, and in reply, openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma chased the target inside 11 overs without any casualties.

For her exceptional performances, Pooja Vastrakar was awarded the Man of the Match, and the Man of the Series award.

"It was an opportunity for me, and whatever I practised in the nets - bowling wicket-to-wicket - I executed. Hard lengths helped me as well. The team felt I should be given the new ball as an opportunity and a responsibility. I wanted to pick up early wickets and give the team a good start-just what the team needed," said Vastrakar during the post-match presentation ceremony.

"Such lengths will be effective in Sri Lanka. We want to perform similarly well in the Asia Cup. Tonight, we tried to bowl to our strengths and give our best. All bowlers did well and executed the plans very well," she added.
