Asia Cup 2023: Asia Cricket Council president Jay Shah announced on Thursday that, the Indian team will be locking horns once again as the two teams have been placed in the same group of the Asia Cup 2023 that will be taking place in September later this year. India and Pakistan have been accompanied by defending champions Sri Lanka in one group, followed by Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and a qualifying team. The Asia Cup 2023 will be taking place in the 50-over format as part of a build-up to the World Cup.

Earlier, Sri Lanka outplayed Pakistan in the T20 Asia Cup 2022 final in Dubai. After losing matches against Pakistan and then Sri Lanka, India failed to make it to the final of the competition.
