India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2022: Batting first after losing the toss, Pakistan got bundled up for 147 in 19.5 overs. Little did anyone would have expected the Men in Green to set a nail-biting thriller despite a modest target against one of the best batting lineups in the world. The star for Pakistan was young pace bowler Naseem Shah who staged a solid fightback by rocking the Indian batters with his spell.
With the shiny new ball, Naseem departed KL Rahul in the very first over to get the Indian opener out for a golden duck and power Pakistan off to a dream start. Nassem's early breakthrough reminded the fans of Shaheen Afridi's bowling heroics in the T20 World Cup 2021 against the very same opponents. Later, he departed in-form Suryakumar Yadav for just 18.
19-year-old Naseem, making his T20I debut in a high-octane clash, bowled like a true champion. Naseem's display of heroic courage, completing his last over, 18th of India's innings, even when he was not able to walk properly due to cramps and pain won the heart of cricket fans around the world.
Meanwhile, a video has gone viral on the internet in which Naseem Shah (2 wickets for 27 runs) can be seen bursting into tears as he walked out of the ground following his 'painful spell'.
