Two stalwarts of Indian cricket Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane built a crucial 71-run stand to keep their team in the race to win the  World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia. India ended by making  164/3 at stumps on day 4, needing 280 more runs to win the game.


Earlier, team India started their innings well with skipper Rohit Sharma building two small but crucial stands with both  Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara. The first stand was of 41 runs in just 44 balls between Gill and Rohit and then the skipper went on to add 51 in just 77 balls with Pujara. But then soon India suffered a few quick blows and then Rahane and Kohli took the onus and kept batting till the end of day 4. The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will be looking to break the record for the highest successful run chase in the history of Test cricket to win the WTC Final mace.
