Kohli is the only batsman currently close to the total number of centuries scored by India's legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin has scored a total 49 centuries in ODI cricket and Kohli is now just six centuries away from Sachin's 49 ODI centuries.

The 32-year-old Indian skipper missed scoring a century by just 11 runs in the second ODI against Australia, while scoring 63 runs in the third ODI to get to his 60th half-century in ODIs. With this, Kohli surpassed Sachin's record of making the fastest 12,000 runs in ODIs.

The Indian captain finishes year 2020 with a very low batting average for the first time since 2011. He will finish the year 2020 with an average of 47.88, which is his fourth lowest average in any calendar year. Kohli batted at an average of less than 50 in ODIs in 2008, 2010 and 2011. His average has never been below 50 in between year 2012 and 2019.

Virat Kohli made history in the third and final ODI against Australia. The Indian captain has now become the fastest batsman to score 12,000 ODI runs. The 32-year-old achieved this feat in the 242nd innings of his 251st match, while Sachin held the record earlier by getting 12,000 runs in the 300th innings of his 309 matches. Apart from Sachin-Kohli, only four players have been able to score 12,ooo ODI runs.
