Indian cricket team star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled of the India vs Australia T20I series. The 31-year-old had  sustained a concussion after being hit on the helmet in the final over of India's innings of the first T20I against Australia in Canberra on Friday. Shardul Thakur has been added to the Indian squad for the remaining two T20 games.

"The diagnosis was confirmed based on a clinical assessment in the dressing room during the innings break by the BCCI Medical Team. Jadeja remains under observation and will be taken for further scans if required based on the assessment on Saturday morning. He will not take any further part in the ongoing T20I series", said BCCI in a statement.


Ind vs Aus: Sanju Samson gives major update on Ravindra Jadeja's concussion


Sanju Samsonhas revealed that Jadeja was feeling a little dizzy when came back to the dressing room after getting hit by Starc's delivery on the left side of his forehead. Samson said that Jadeja is currently under the supervision of team doctor Abhijeet Salvi. However, he did not provide any information on Jadeja's hamstring injury.




"The physio (team's medical staff) knows his condition better. We don't have any information yet. We saw him (Jadeja) getting hurt. When he returned he said he was feeling dizzy. We had to go for a concussion substitute," said Sanju Samson who scored 23 in 1st T20 vs Australia.

Aaron Finch has given a statement regarding Ravindra Jadeja's injury and his team's performance. Due to concussion, Yuvvendra Chahal played in place of Ravindra Jadeja in India's second innings which also proved to be the 'game-changer' moment in the game. Chahal was adjudged man of the match for picking three wickets in today's game. Talking about this after the game, Finch said that he cannot question the decision of a Medical Officer.






"Their doctor had ruled Jadeja out due to concussion. You can't be challenging a medical expert's opinion," said Finch after the match.

India skipper Virat Kohli said, "There were no plans of having Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal) in the game. Concussion replacements are a strange thing. Today, it worked for us. Yuzi showed character to squeeze the opponents."
