New Delhi: Former India skipper Virat Kohli was spotted bowling in the nets ahead of team India's high-voltage clash against Australia. Punjab Cricket Association posted pictures of Virat bowling on their official Twitter handle. The caption read, “Look who’s opening bowling tomorrow”.

Virat Kohli had recently rolled his arms against Hong Kong as he bowled one over in the recently concluded Asia Cup. There are chances that Virat Kohli may serve as the sixth bowler in the upcoming T20I series against Australia and South Africa ahead of the T20 World Cup

The 33-year-old gained his form back by smashing a century against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022. It was his 71st international century. Kohli completed his maiden T20 International century in just 53 balls.  He had earlier scored a century in a Test match against Bangladesh in 2019. Virat Kohli has 3584 runs in his kitty at a wholesome average of 51.94 in the 104 T20Is he has played. Interestingly, Kohli has also scalped four wickets in his T20 career and his wickets are Kevin Pietersen, Samit Patel, Mohammad Hafeez, and Johnson Charles.

Ahead of 1st T20I match against Australia, the biggest headache for the team management is to decide who will get a chance in India's playing XI between Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant in India's playing XI. Prior to the T20 series opener in Mohali, Rohit’s deputy KL Rahul has stated, “It again depends on the kind of combination you want to go with. It depends on the surface and the teams we are playing against. These are not easy decisions. Both are high-quality players and have been playing well. Both of them do different roles”.
