After the senior team, the Indian Under-19 team has now taken possession of the Asia Cup. In the final match played in Dhaka, India defeated Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 144 and won for the record sixth time.

Batting first, India made a huge score of 303 runs due to four brilliant half centuries by Y Jaiswal (85), Anuj Rawat (57), Captain P Simran Singh (65*) and A Badoni (52), after which Harsh Tyagi (38 for 6) bowled brilliantly against Sri Lanka to win the game for his side by 144 runs in 38.4 overs.

The India Captain Simran Singh’s decision to bat first proved to be successful; Jayaswal (85) and Anuj Rawat (57) were in brilliant form with the bat, adding 121 runs for the first wicket. After getting a good start, the Indian batsmen speeded up the pace and thrashed the Sri Lankan bowlers over and across the boundary.

Playing maturely, Captain Simran Singh scored 65 runs in 37 balls while Ayush Badoni hit 52 runs in just 28 balls. Both of them had an unbroken partnership of 109 runs in 9.1 overs for the fourth wicket and helped the team put a massive score of 300 on the board.

Not being able to handle the pressure of chasing such a huge score, Sri Lanka started slowing down, loosing total grip on the game. Leg-spinner Harsh destroyed Sri Lanka's top and middle order completely.

The Sri Lankan batting duo of KNM Fernando and ND Paranavithana were the only two batsmen who were able to put up some fight, scoring 49 and 48 runs respectively.
