New Delhi: India registered sensational series victory over New Zealand (61/6) as they defeated the visitors by 6 runs to clinch three-match rubber 2-1 at the Green Field stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.


India’s bowling department was at its brutal best, defending a modest 67-run total in a rain curtailed encounter (8-over a side).


Jaspreet Bumrah was the most economical bowler for India. The 23-year-old returned with 2/9 in his two over spell and played a crucial role in easing the pressure from Hardik Pandya, who bowled the final over.


For New Zealand, Colin de Grandhomme scored most runs (17) and remained unbeaten but couldn’t guide his team to victory.

Manish Pandey made 17 off 11 balls and Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 14 off 10 balls after New Zealand put India in to bat at the Greenfield Stadium, which is hosting its first international match.
