Hosts India registered their third successive T2OI series win over the West Indies after they beat the visitors by a comprehensive 67-run margin in the third and final T20I of the 3-match series played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.


Quick-fire half tons by skipper Kohli, opener KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma helped India post a mammoth 240-run total before restricting the visitors to 173-8 in their 20 overs and sealing the win and wrap up the series.

With a 2-1 series win, India continued their impressive track record against their Caribbean counterparts in T20Is following up on their two consecutive series whitewash over the Windies in the shorter format

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was adjudged  the Man of the series for his superlative effort with the willow all through the 3-match series.

Most Runs

Indian skipper Virat Kohli ended the series as the highest run getter, aggregating 183 runs in 3 matches at an astounding average of 183. Kohli scored two blistering innings of 94 in the first T2OI at Hyderabad and 70 off just 29 balls in the series finale at Mumbai.

Explosive stroke-maker Shimron Hetmyer scored the most runs for Windies in the series. The attacking southpaw notched up 120 runs in 3 innings at a healthy average of 40.

Most Sixes

Virat Kohli led the six hitting charts with a whooping 13 hits over the fence in just 3 games. Shimron Hetmyer came in second best, cracking 12 sixes. Windies skipper Kieron Pollard took the third spot, clearing the ropes 10 times through the series.

Most Half Tons Highest Individual Score

Virat Kohli and opener KL Rahul registered two half tons each, leading the 50s charts in the 3-match series. While Kohli lit up the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium at Hyderabad with a whirlwind 94 run knock, KL Rahul hit a power-packed 91 innings to help India clinch the series finale at Wankhede in Mumbai. Both the stroke-makers missed out on scoring a ton.

Windies skipper Kieron Pollard's blistering 68-run knock in Mumbai T20I and opener Lendl Simmons fiery match winning 67 off 45 balls in the Thirivantapuram T20I were the best batting efforts by the West Indian batsmen in the series.
