A day ahead of the T2OI series opener against West Indies, the 'Men in Blue' incorporated yet another new running drill to their already dynamic and fast paced practice curriculum, with an aim to sharpen their reflexes on the green turf.
During the first training session of the team ahead of the three match T20 series against the West Indies on Wednesday, the Indian players were seen running in batches with the front row having coloured towels placed on the back of their shorts and the chasing pack trying to collect it.
The video was shared by BCCI on their social media handles with the caption "A look at Team India's new 'Chase drill'.
As per sources, it is learned that the Indian team’s new strength and conditioning (trainer) coach Nick Webb is the brain child behind this drill where the players not only improve upon their speed but can also deal with pressure that there is someone hot on his heels chasing.
India would look to continue their good run against the Windies in white ball cricket in the home series after beating the Carribean nation in their own backyard when toured the Caribbean in August-September earlier this year.
India will take on the West Indies in three T20Is and three ODIs. The first T20I is starting here on Friday.
