The Indian bowlers finished the business right in the first session of the third day of the Rajkot Test, bowling out West Indies for 181 in 48 overs. The visitors failed to avoid the follow-on as they are currently trailing behind 468 runs, which is also the third biggest 1st innings conceded by them.
After resuming the game at 94/6, Roston Chase and Keemo Paul stitched a healthy partnership. The duo added 73 runs for the 7th wicket before Paul fell prey to Umesh Yadav in the 39th over. He nearly missed his half-century as he ended up scoring 47 off 49 deliveries.
Chase continued his patient batting and brought up his 6th Test fifty. He tried to stretch his stint at the crease full unfortunately, Ashwin spun a brutal web which removed him in the 44th over. Chase had to return to the dressing room after scoring 53 runs off 79 balls.
In the same over, Ashwin removed debutant Sherman Lewis on a three-ball duck and didn’t waste much time to bundle up the opponents. In his next over, he dismissed Shanon Gabriel to bowl out Windies for 181 and at the same time, he grabbed a four-wicket haul.
