IND Women Vs SL Women 2nd ODI 2022: India Women won the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka by 10 wickets on July 4 to go 2-0 up and take an unassailable lead in the series. The match was played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, with India opting to bowl first.

Sri Lanka got bowled out for 173 after 50 overs as Renuka Singh was the pick of the bowlers with the figures of 10-1-28-4. Meghna Singh and Deepti Sharma scalped two wickets each as the rest two were runouts.

Ama Kanchana’s hard-fought unbeaten 47 helped Sri Lanka Women recover from 81/6 to 173 as no other batsman managed to get even 40, with Nilakshi De Silva’s 32 and captain Chamari Athapaththu’s 27 being the only supportive knocks as India Women’s bowling was too economical and effective to keep Sri Lanka Women at bay.

India Women started smoothly and kept their brilliant start intact as openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana made sure that there were no hiccups as India successfully chased 174 inside 25.4 overs with all 10 wickets in hand. Smriti Mandhana just missed out on a century as she remained unbeaten on 94 and Renuka Singh was awarded the Player of the Match award for her brilliant bowling effort.

With their victory, India Women have now won both, the T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka Women and will now play the final match of the tour, which is the 3rd ODI, at the very same venue (Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele) on July 7.
