Virat Kohli-led India kept their impressive form intact in the 2019 ICC World Cup as they beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets  in their last group stage fixture at Headingley in Leeds.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul struck fine centuries to help India chase down the 265-run target set by Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma broke records a plenty as he became the first ever batsman to score 5 tons in single edition of the World Cup. Meanwhile Rohit's opening partner KL Rahul struck his maiden World Cup ton.

Batting first Sri Lanka lost both their openers cheaply as Jasprit Bumrah struck early to remove skipper Karunaratne and Kusal Perera. Ravindra Jadeja scalped Kusal Mendis courtesy a brilliant stumping by MS Dhoni. Hardik Pandya then got into the act to remove Avishka Fernando. With Sri Lanka reeling at 55 for 4, Angelo Matthews stitched a resilient partnership with Lahiru Thirimanne to help the Lankans stage a recovery.

Just as the partnership looked dangerous, Kuldeep Yadav scalped Thirimanne. Matthews kept on piling on the runs and eventually got to his maiden World Cup ton. Jasprit Bumrah came back into the attack to send Matthews back to the pavilion. Dhananjaya de Silva added some runs at a fair clip towards the end of the Sri Lankan innings.

India ended their group stage campaign with seven wins in nine matches. India's only loss came at the hands of hosts England.
