IND vs SL 1st Test: The day has arrived when Virat Kohli would take the field to play his 100th Test match. Kohli would become the 12th Indian to play his 100th Test match.

A lot of talk is going on around the 100th Test of Virat Kohli. Fans still await Kohli's 71st International hundred that has not come since 2019. What better occasion to score a hundred after a long time? Kohli would be mindful of that, but as known, he would not let that pressure of expectations get to him.

This is the same ground - IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali - where Virat made his captaincy debut and would be itching to go out and give his best. From making Test debut in 2011 to being the only person to have scored a hundred in the Australia series in the same year, Kohli has come a long way. Although he hasn't scored a hundred since 2019, he has been in good form of late, scoring half-centuries and getting quick runs.

PITCH Report

It is a flat pitch that will suit most of the Indian batsmen and will offer some turn due to the dryness in the wicket. Again, it also depends on if the ball starts turning on the first day or the third/fourth day. Thus, nothing can be predicted at the toss. Although the captain winning the toss might want to bat first.

Meanwhile, India will be without Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane in the middle-order. Hanuma Vihari, Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer would be fighting for these two spots. Thus, it would be a new-look Indian team that would take field on Friday.

Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (C), Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah (vc), Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj
