IND vs SL Asia Cup 2023 Highlights: Indian cricket team broke multiple records with a historic 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in Sunday's blockbuster Asia Cup 2023 Final match at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Pacer Mohammed Siraj bowled one of the greatest bowling spells in history of white-ball cricket, picking six wickets for 21 runs in his seven overs to become first-ever Indian to take four wickets in an over in international cricket, also joint-quickest bowler to take a five-wicket haul in ODIs. Sri Lanka were bowled out for mere 50 runs after opting to bat first -- their lowest total ever in ODIs.

Siraj sent 6 Sri Lankan batters back to the pavilion in his seven-over spell and probably could have taken more wickets, but captain Rohit Sharma decided to not give him more than seven overs against Sri Lanka.

After the match got over, Rohit Sharma revealed that it required a word from the team trainer to stop Siraj from bowling.

"It was very pleasing to watch from the slips (how Siraj bowled). He got the ball to move a bit more than the other two. We were riding behind him (Siraj) when he was bowling that spell," the skipper said.

"He bowled seven overs in that spell, and I got a message from the trainer that we have to stop him now. He was quite desperate to bowl," said Rohit with a chuckle.

Wasn't planning to give Siraj another over, says Rohit

"He bowled seven overs, which is a lot. Siraj was in a similar situation against SL in Trivandrum, and he had bowled some 8-9 overs on the trot," he added.

Rohit also praised 'Player of the tournament' Kuldeep Yadav.

"Kuldeep has done very well under pressure. He bowled well against Sri Lanka (Super 4 match) and we won despite posting a small total." "His confidence has been going up over the last two years or so. He drags the team back into the match from any situation," said the Indian skipper.
