Hosts India were in a commanding position at Lunch on Day 2 of the second Test against South Africa at Pune after posting 353-3 on the board. Skipper Virat Kohli notched up his 26th Test ton and Ajinkya Rahane scored his 20th half ton in Tests to help India pile up a huge total at Lunch against the Proteas.

At lunch, Virat Kohli was batting at 104 and had the company of Rahane, who was playing on 58.

Resuming on their overnight score of 273-3, India dint lose a single wicket in the session as skipper Kohli combined with his deputy to stitch a 158 run partnership for the fourth wicket.


While Rahane was watchful in his approach and took his sweet time to fend off a hostile opening spell , Kohli looked in full command against the Proteas bowlers and entertained the crowd with some delightful stroke-play. The pair added 83 runs in the morning session before lunch.

India were put in the driver's seat on Day 1 with Mayank Agarwal scoring his second ton in as many Tests against the Proteas. Mayank got good support from Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli, both of whom notched up half centuries.

Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the Proteas bowlers on Day 1, picking all three Indian wickets which fell on the day.
