IND vs SA 2nd T20I HIGHLIGHTS: South Africa Register Convincing Win Over India
IND vs SA 2nd T20I HIGHLIGHTS: South Africa beat India by 5 wickets in Gqeberha.
What a way to win the match for South Africa as Phehlukwayo takes the Proteas over the line with a massive six on the leg side off Jadeja. They win by 5 wickets to go 1-0 up in the series.
South Africa need 36 run from 30 balls.
Three Wickets In Quick Succession for India then. SA- 108/4 as Klaasen falls for 7 off 5.
Heinrich Klaasen In At 4 for South Africa. They need 56 from 42 balls.
And a timely strike for India and it's Mukesh Kumar who produces the breakthrough, getting rid of Markram for 30 off 17. SA- 96/2 after 7.5 Overs.
Superb From South Africa. 50 of the partnership comes up between Markram and Hendrinks. SA-96/1 after 7.4 overs.
It is Markram who has come in at 3 and he has wasted no time either. He ends the powerplay with a boundary off Kuldeep. SA-67/1 after 5 overs.
5-Over Powerplay In This 15-Over Chase, remember.
And it's a run out that helps India break the partnership. Much needed. Matthew Breetzke comes back for the second and almost goes to the non-striker's end before realising his partner never started. He then tries to run back but there is no chance he make the crease. India get a lucky breakthrough. SA-42/1 after 2.5 Overs.
South Africa need 152 to win off 15 overs but they have gotten off to a splendid start already, having scored 38 off the first two overs. First over went for 14 which was bowled by Mohammed Siraj, second one delivered by Arshdeep Singh went for 24. Reeza Hendricks and Matthew Breetzke on fire for South Africa.
Play to resume at 11:10 pm (IST). South Africa's target will be reduced to a 15-over run-chase based on the revised DRS target.
Covers are coming off. But it is yet to be seen when the play would resume and the revised playing conditions, if any.
And we have a rain interruption. IND- 180/7 after 19.3 overs. 3 balls still remaining in the innings and it would be interesting to see if the batters return for those 3 deliveries.
Two Wicket in Two Balls and Arshdeep Singh falls for a duck. Plays a slower one straight to the fielder inside the circle. IND- 180/7 after 19.3 overs.
Jadeja given out second ball, LBW. So India , 180/6 now as Jadeja walks back for 19 off 14. Four balls to go in the innings.
Jadeja To face. Rinku on the other end.
Two sixes to finish the penultimate over and it's who else but Rinku Singh. Needed two big shots and that's exactly what the youngster has delivered. IND- 178/5 after 19 overs.
IND- 149/5 after 16 overs.
And now it's time for Rinku to raise his bat. His maiden T20I fifty. He continues his good form and reaches the landmark off 30 balls.
Jitesh Sharma's stay at the wicket comes to an end. Tries to go after Markram but the ball came off the toe end of his bat and it's taken in the deep. IND- 142/5 after 15.2 overs.
Jitesh Sharma new man in for India.
The spinner has taken the wicket of Suryakumar who goes back for 56 off 36. Batter fails to time this and gets caught in the deep at long-off where Jansen grabs a great catch. IND- 125/4 after 13.5 Overs.
Rinku Survives. Markram the off-spinner perhaps came in just for the left-hander and even had Rinku in trouble when he missed the reverse sweep and the on-field umpire adjudged it out. However, India went for the DRS and it turned out that the ball had taken the batter's gloves. IND- 107/3 after 12 overs. Partnership worth over 50 already for India.
17 runs coming off the 11th over. A six and two boundaries. IND- 101/3 after 11 overs.
What an innings. Gets there of 29 balls and it's been a typical Suryakumar-like knock. He has reached the milestone with the help of 5 boundaries and 3 sixes.
End Of Powerplay. End of fielding restrictions. IND- 59/3. Rinku Singh has just found the boundary off the first ball that he has faced. IND- 59/3 after 6 overs.
Third wicket down India! Timely strike this for the Proteas as the duo of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma was looking to dominate them but Coetzee strikes as Varma falls for 29 off 20. IND- 55/3 after 5.5 overs.
SKY Up And Running as well. He has hit a couple of fours and a six off Coetzee as India fetch 15 runs off the fourth over.
Suryakumar Yadav's at number 4, by the way for India and this is a massive partnership in the context of this game for India.
Varma has announced his intentions there in that Jansen over. A six and three boundaries including one off a no-ball makes it a massive for India. All of them from the bat of the left-hander. India get 19 off the third over and well and truly release the pressure. After 3 overs, IND-25/2.
WICKET! Lizaad Williams Strikes From The Other END. Both openers out for duck as Shubman Gill goes back for 0 off 2, caught right in front of stumps with the ball thrashing his pads. South Africa on top early on in this fixture. IND- 6/2 after 2 overs.
End Of A Successful Over from Jansen. IND -3/1 after 1st over.
Tilak Varma In At Number 3 for India.
Jaiswal departs for a duck and a dream start for South Africa after choosing to bowl first. A bit of width on offer from Marco Jansen and Jasiwal went after it but found David Miller at point who took a blinder of a catch. IND- 0/1 after 0.3 Overs. Shubman Gill at the non-striker's end, hasn't yet faced a ball.
Ruturaj Gaikwad unavailable due to an illness. But no place for Shreyas Iyer.

South Africa win toss. They elect to bowl first.
Toss In Less Than 10 Minutes from now. Should be on time, by the looks of it.
Hello And Welcome to our live coverage of the second T20I between India and South Africa. The series stands at 0-0 as the first game was washed out.
Background
IND vs SA 2nd T20I LIVE SCORE: Even though the first T20I of the three-match series between India and South Africa was abandoned without a ball being bowled, the action now shifts to Gqeberha for the second fixture of the white-ball leg of India's tour. Both the teams only have five T20Is remaining before they feature in the T20 World Cup 2024 set to take place in USA and West Indies in June 2024. This means there are limited opportunities for both these teams to figure out a working combination which they will then take to the ICC event next year.
Weather did play a spoilsport so much so that both the captains did not even get a chance to announce their Playing 11s. This means fans have no idea what the management is thinking. Will Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad continue opening or will Shubman Gill get back into the scheme of things as an opener? Similarly it would be interesting to see what happens to Kuldeep Yadav who had a great run in the ODI World Cup but will have to compete for a place with Ravi Bishnoi who was the Player of the Series in India's home series against Australia.
As far as hosts South Africa are concerned, they too have a few selection issues to consider. While Andile Phehlukwayo could be a tempting choice to pick, who will he replace? Will he come instead of Marco Jansen? So there are unsolved puzzles to solve for both India and South Africa which makes the second T20I all the more fascinating.
Probable Playing 11s:
South Africa: Reeza Hendricks, Matthew Breetzke, Aiden Markam, Tristan Stubbs/Heinrich Klaasen (wicketkeeper), David Miller, Donovan Ferreira, Marco Jansen/Andile Phehlukwayo, Keshav Maharaj, Gerald Coetzee, Nandre Burger, Tabraiz Shamsi
India: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill/Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar/Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav/Ravi Bishnoi, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh
