Pakistan registered an emphatic victory against India in the U19 Asia Cup  2023 game on Sunday, 10 December in Dubai. The Men in Green dominated the Indian lineup throughout the match and ended up winning it with 8 wickets and 18 balls to spare.

It was Azan Awais who guided Pakistan to win the game on the back of his brilliant century as he remained unbeaten at 105 off 138 balls. Apart from Azan, opener batter Shahzaib Khan also played a terrific knock of 63 runs off 88 balls while captain Saad Baig also smashed an unbeaten 68 off 51 balls. After choosing to bowl first in the match, they restricted India to 259/9.

For India, opener batter Adarsh Singh, skipper Uday Saharan, and Sachin Dhas collected half-centuries, helping India to post a defendable score. For Pakistan, pacer Mohammad Zeeshan was the star with the ball as he picked up 4 wickets in his 10 overs.

After coming to start their batting, Pakistan suffered an early blow in the form of Shamyl Hussain but then they revived and kept things easy. The Indian bowlers were clueless in front of Pakistan’s batters and also ended up giving 19 runs in extras. The Men in Blue came to play this game after a win against Afghanistan but were not able to continue their winning run in the second match.

For his classy known, Azan was given the player of the match award. While talking after the game, the batter said it was a good pitch to bat on and to be able to play a massive knock one only had to battle against the pacers well in the early part of the innings. On the back of this win, Pakistan are now standing at the top of the Group A table with two wins in two matches. India will play their next game against Nepal.
