IND vs NZ 2nd Test: The second Test between India and New Zealand will be played between December 3 and 7 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Before this, the Maharashtra government has set a maximum limit for spectators in the match on Saturday.
The state government has issued an order for only 25% spectators capacity at Wankhede Stadium.
The Wankhede stadium has a capacity of 33,000 spectators. This means now only 8,250 spectators will be able to watch the second Test at the stadium. There is now a decline in Corona cases in Maharashtra and Mumbai. But the state government is on alert as a new variant has appeared in South Africa.
Milind Narvekar, PA of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Chairman, Mumbai Cricket Association, said, "The Maharashtra government is being very cautious regarding the organization of crowded events keeping in view the new Corona variant found in South Africa. Yet we are grateful to the government for allowing 25% of the audience in the Mumbai Test."
The Maharashtra government's revenue and forest department, disaster management, relief, and rehabilitation department issued an order on Saturday saying that only 25 percent of people can attend any open-space event.
