India are locking horns with New Zealand in the 1st of the 3-match ODI series at the Seddon Park in Hamilton. Kiwi skipper Tom Latham won the toss and elected to bowl first.

India will look to continue their good run of form in New Zealand when they take on the hosts Kiwis in the first of three ODIs at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Wednesday. India would surely miss the services of their prolific opening batsman Rohit Sharma, but the Kiwis will also be without skipper Kane Williamson for the first two games.

New Zealand skipper Tom Latham won the toss and decided to bowl first against India in the 1st ODI at Hamilton

New Zealand are playing their first ODI since their heartbreaking World Cup final defeat. Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw will be making their ODI debuts for India.

Kohli: Probably we would have bowled first as well. Hard to defend here. It's a good track, going to be a challenge for us. Two debutants, both at the top. Kedar comes into the squad. The conditions are different from what you get back at home. We know we can be dominant at home, but the away performance is what makes us standout. We need to take the confidence into the series as well. In ODIs you'll see more guys getting chances.

Latham: We are going to have a bowl. Chasing here's a good option, with one short boundary it's going to be hard to defend. Mitch Santner and Ish Sodhi are playing. Things haven't been going well for us.
