Rohit Sharma, often known for his humorous remarks and laid-back demeanour, captured fans’ hearts with his heart-warming side. He was caught on camera reminding young India batter Sarfaraz Khan to wear a helmet while fielding close to the batsman during the third innings of the ongoing India vs England 4th Test in Ranchi on February 25 (Sunday). Interestingly, before Sarfaraz's debut in Rajkot, Rohit Sharma made a promise to the debutant's father, assuring him that he would take care of his son.

In the latter part of England's innings on day 3 of the ongoing IND vs ENG 4th Test in Ranchi, Rohit Sharna opted to position Sarfaraz near the batsman. The fielder took up the position at silly point without wearing a helmet or any other protective gear.

Seeing this, Rohit Sharma wasted no time to give a lesson to Sarfaraz, advising him not to act like a hero and wear protective gear. "Aye bhai, zyada hero mat ban (hey, don't try to be a hero here)," Rohit qupped.

For the unversed, a fielder stationed close to a batter typically wears a helmet and shin pads for safety. The stump mic captured Rohit advising Sarfaraz, creating a humorous moment for fans. Sarfaraz, playing his second Test match, eventually wore the helmet brought by KS Bharat before the next delivery was bowled.

Rohit Sharma’s Promise To Sarfaraz’s Father

Before making his Test debut for India, Sarfaraz Khan and his family, especially his father Naushad Khan, were overwhelmed with emotions. In a poignant moment captured on a video that went viral, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma approached Naushad, offering a handshake and a comforting hug.

The touching part of the meeting was when Naushad tearfully urged Rohit to take care of his son, saying, "Sir dhyan rakhna uska (Sir, please take care of him)." To this, the Indian captain assured, "Han. Bilkul, bilkul (Yes, definitely.)"

India On Track For Series Win

Coming to the ongoing 4th IND vs ENG Test in Ranchi, Ravichandran Ashwin's five-wicket haul and Kuldeep Yadav's four-wicket haul helped India bowl out England for a mere total of 145 in the third innings. Ravindra Jadeja also contributed with one wicket, while Mohammed Siraj bowled only three overs.

India's batting performance in the final session was solid as they scored 40 runs without losing any wicket in the eight overs bowled. Rohit Sharma finished the day at 24, while Yashasvi Jaiswal ended the day on 16. India need 152 runs to win in 180 overs.

With India leading the five-match series 2-1, a victory in the third game will secure the series for them. England's only chance to stay alive in the series is by bowling out India on day 4.
