The India vs Bangladesh Kanpur Test faced another delayed start despite there being no rain in Kanpur. This marked the third consecutive occasion in as many days in the IND vs BAN 2nd Test where rain or wet outfield hindered the play.

Wet outfield at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur was the reason for a delayed start on Day 3 of the IND vs BAN 2nd Test as the ground needed some work to be done for the surface to become playable.

Slated to start at 9:30 AM IST, the IND vs BAN Test Day 3 will see an umpires’ inspection of the pitch and the ground and if the conditions are deemed appropriate for the play to continue, the Day 3 proceedings will begin, provided there will be no further rain interruptions.

Persistent heavy rains from previous days left the outfield surface waterlogged and soggy, making it unfit for play to resume. Despite the field being under covers, the sweating from covers tends to make the surface filled with moisture.

This is the third consecutive day in the IND vs BAN Test at Kanpur that faced delayed start. The opening day of the match started with one hour delay and the day was later curtailed after only 35 overs of play owing to bad light. The second day of the IND vs BAN Kanpur Test saw no play at all due to continuous rains at the Green Park Stadium.
