A new chapter in the history book of cricket will be written when India and Bangladesh lock horns at the Eden Gardens for the first-ever pink-ball Test on the Indian soil. In the second Test of the two-match series, Virat Kohli's men will start as hot favourites against lacklustre Bangladesh.

But with the pink ball, which both nations are new to, that excitement of how it will behave especially during the twilight period will keep everybody on their toes.

The historic event will be collectively inaugurated by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. They will ring the Eden Bell to announce the play open.

Toss Update:

Bangladesh have won the toss and they have decided to bat first at the Eden Gardens. They made a couple of changes in the team – Al Amin Hossain comes in for Taijul Islam and  Nayeem Hasan replaces Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

“We will bat first, the wicket is dry and hard, so that's why we want to bat first. It's a brave decision we feel. It's a great opportunity for everyone,” said Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque at the toss.

Team India have fielded the same playing XI that thumped the visitors in Indore by an innings and 130 runs.

“We would have batted first as well. Decent grass cover on it, but it's a hard pitch. With the pink ball, there will be something for the first 15 overs. This is another opportunity for us to come and execute our skills. The challenge is to adapt quickly to the ball. It travels fast and it's difficult to control. We are fulfilling a responsibility of debuting with the pink ball,” said Kohli at the toss.
