IND vs BAN Asia Cup 2024 Semifinal 1: India registered a thumping 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on July 26 (Friday). With the win, the Women in Blue uphold their record of appearing in each of the editions of the Asia Cup. They have won eight out of nine editions since 2004, with Bangladesh winning one title back in 2018.
Winning the toss, Bangladesh opted to bat first. They faced a challenging strt right away as they lost Dilara Alter in the very first over to India’s Renuka Singh. After the poor start, there was no revival of Bangladesh’s batting as they kept losing wickets and finished on the score of 80-8 in 20 overs. India’s Renuka Singh and Radha Yadav were the pick of the bowlers as they claimed three wickets apiece.

India Defeat Bangladesh By 10 Wickets To Enter Ninth Asia Cup Final
Chasing the meek target of 81 runs, India openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana came out with positive intent as they put the bad deliveries to boundary. The Bangladesh bowlers were unable to even take one wicket as India swat away Bangladesh by 10 wickets with 54 balls remaining, to enter the Asia cup 2024 final. Verma finished with an unbeaten 30-run knock and Mandhana finished with an unbeaten 45-run knock.
Notably, India have reached the finals in all editions of the Women's Asia Cup and have won eight out of the nine tournaments held so far. The one time that the Indian women's team could not win the final was in Asia Cup 2018 edition when they faced a defeat at the hands of Bangladesh.
India will now play against the winner of the Sri Lanka vs Pakistan Semifinal 2 on July 28 in the final of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024.
