Indian skipper Virat Kohli who has enamored the cricketing fraternity with his spectacular stroke-play has a tremendous fan following all across the country and the same came to the fore once again in the Indore Test played between India and Bangladesh that ended with a massive win for the hosts on Saturday.

A 22-year-old man, who claimed to be a huge Virat Kohli fan, jumped over the barrier from one of the stands at the Holkar Stadium, managed his way past the security cordon and ran onto the ground during the India-Bangladesh Test at Holkar Stadium here on Saturday.


When he got close to the Indian skipper, Kohli gave a side hug to the fan, and had a word with him before the security guards came up to take the pitch invade away.

Suraj Bisht, a native of Uttarakhand and cook by profession, wanted to meet the Indian cricket captain. Security personnel stopped him and he was detained, a police officer said.


He was wearing a T-shirt with Kohli's name printed on it, had a tatoo of Kohli's name on his arm, and 'VK' was written on his face. His identity was being verified and appropriate action would be taken thereafter, the police officer said.
