Indian cricket team will play its first international series since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic when they lock horns with Australia in the ODI leg of the all-format series tour with the first ODI scheduled to be held on November 27th at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The Indian playing contingent and support staff headed to Australia after the culmination of the thirteenth edition of the IPL played out at the United Arab Emirates from September 19 to November 10.

The ODI and T20I team is once again being skippered by seasoned captain Virat Kohli, who will only be available for the limited over series and the first Test at Adelaide.

Known for his prolific run scoring and penchant to scale herculean batting milestones with phenomenal consistency , Virat is again on the verge of breaking a couple of major records as he takes to the green turf against one his favourite oppositions Australia.

So here is a look at the major records which Virat Kohli can break when he leads India against Australia in the 3-match ODI series

Kohli Can Become Most Successful Indian Skipper In ODIs Against Australia

Kohli could become the most successful Indian skipper against Australia in ODIs if he manages to clean sweep the hosts in the 3-match ODI series. With 11 wins in 17 ODI matches against the 'Aussies', Kohli requires three more wins to equal MS Dhoni's record (14) of most wins by any Indian skipper against Australia in the 50-overs format.

Dhoni led India to 14 wins in 40 games against the Australians in ODIs. In terms of win percentage, Kohli is already the most successful skipper, enjoying an impressive 64.7 win percentage.
