India’s star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin scripted history when he became only the second bowler to pick 100 wickets against Australia in Test cricket after Anil Kumble. He created a record when he scalped the wicket of Alex Carey on Day 1 of the ongoing second Test at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Talking about the match, after opting to bat, Australia’s Usman Khawaja played a blinder of innings as he got out for 81 runs. After a few early blows, Usman stood there in the middle and smashed Indian bowlers all around the park. The Kangaroos are 194/6 at Tea n the opening day of the second Test on Friday. Ashwin took two quick wickets of Marnus Labuschagne (18) and Steve Smith (0).

Earlier, ahead of his 100th Test, India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara got felicitated at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. “It is an honour to receive this cap from you (Sunil Gavaskar), legends like you have inspired me (On getting the cap from Sunny G). I wanted to play for India as a youngster but I never thought I’d get to 100 Test matches. Test cricket is the ultimate format for me, it challenges you just like life. To all the youngsters, I’d encourage y’all to work hard to play Test cricket for India. I’d like to thank my wife, my family, everyone in BCCI and all my teammates who’ve supported me throughout this journey, ” Pujara said.
