India defeated Australia by 36 runs to win the second one day international at Rajkot and  level the 3-match series 1-1. The host victory  came on the back of an impressive bowling effort by the bowlers and a power-packed batting performance earlier in the match.


After setting a herculean target of 341 with the bat, the Indian bowlers were up to the task by striking quick wickets early in the Australian innings. While Shami scalped the dangerous David Warner, spinner Jadeja sent back skipper Aaron Finch.

Steve Smith and Marnus Labuchagne stitched together a healthy partnership to keep the visitors very much in contention, Kuldeep Yadav cartwheeled Smith to deny him a well deserved ton. Jadeja then got of the well settled Marnus Labuschagne to peck back Australia.

It was a Mohammad Shami show who dismissed Ashton Turner and Pat Cummins to dent the visitors hopes of . Tearaway speedster then produced a lethal yorker to trap Ashton Agar leg before wicket.

Hosts India posted a mammoth 340-run total against Australia in the second of the 3-match ODI series at the Saurashtra Cricket Association ground in Rajkot.

Openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan led the opening salvo for India stitching a 81 run partnership. Against the run of play, leg spinner Adam Zampa trapped Rohit leg before for 44.

Skipper Kohli came out to bat at No.3 and piled up the runs at a brisk pace to help the team lay down a strong foundation . Just as when Dhawan was nearing his century, seamer Kane Richarson trapped him for 96. Shreyas Iyer did not last long as Zampa clean up his stumps.

Zampa then got Virat for the fifth time in his career with Mitchell Starc taking a catch at the boundary. KL Rahul stepped up the scoring rate towards the end scoring a flurry of boundaries. He eventually departed for a whirlwind 80 off just 52 deliveries to help

Adam Zampa was the most successful Australian bowler picking up 3 wickets.
