New Delhi: India once again had the upper hand in the post-lunch session even as Australia find themselves within touching distance of India’s first innings total on Day 2 of the second India-Australia Test at Bengaluru.
Ishant Sharma trapped Mitchell Marsh off the last ball before Tea to again bring the match in an even-steven scenario with Australia reduced to 163/5.
However, it was Jadeja who did the maximum damage for Team India, sneering the crucial wicket of Renshaw (60) and later on dismissing Handscomb (16). On both occasions he got able support from his fielders – First it was Saha who completed a magnificent stumping down the leg side to bring an end to a wonderful innings from Renshaw. Then it was Ashiwn who hung on to diving catch to send Handscomb packing.
The Indian bowlers, Ishant Sharma in particular toiled really hard for wickets which were hard come by as the Australian batsman showed admirable application.
Shaun Marsh is still there at 38 and Australia are only 26 runs behind India’s first innings total.
