Former India captain and legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar announced his 15-member Indian team for the ICC T20 World Cup which will start in the UAE next month. Today, Indian team's selection committee will also announce the players of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. This time, the T20 World Cup will be played in UAE and Oman from October 17.

Dhawan is not included

Sunil Gavaskar shocked everyone by announcing his 15 member team. In a shocking turn of events, Gavaskar did not include Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan, who has scored the highest runs in the IPL for the past two seasons. Shikhar also did brilliant batting in the recent ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka, but even after this, he could not please Gavaskar with his amazing performance. Gavaskar has named captain Virat Kohli as the opener along with Rohit Sharma for this T20 World Cup. He has included KL Rahul as the backup opener. Mumbai Indians batsman Surya Kumar Yadav, who made his brilliant debut in T20 and ODI this year, has been kept for batting at number three.

Iyer is also not included

Apart from Shikhar Dhawan, Gavaskar shocked everyone with another decision. He has also not included Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer, who has been out of the team for some time due to his injury. Gavaskar has included six specialist bowlers viz, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur as seamers and Yuzvendra Chahar as spinner in his team.
