New Delhi: Australian skipper Steven Smith was dismissed for a duck in a controversial scene, triggering South African comeback in the contest in the first test. Steven Smith in a bid to maintain the run rate set by David Warner went down the track to slam debutant Keshav Maharaj in the stands but saw the ball hit the pads, eventually umpire Aleem dar raised his finger confidently to give the skipper out.



Smith immediately reviewed the decision but was surprised to see the ball hitting the leg stump despite dancing several strides down the pitch to meet the ball.



Keshav Maharaj now has a debut to remember after dismissing the Australian skipper for a duck.
