Glenn Maxwell, the Australian cricketer who is currently playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2023, will soon become a father. Maxwell's wife Vini Raman announced on Thursday that the couple is epxecting their first child. Vini was in India during the initial stage of IPL 2023 but has returned to Australia. The coupled had tied the knot in March 2022.

"Glenn & I are ecstatic to announce our rainbow baby is due September 2023," Vini wrote in an Instagram post.

"It’s so important for us to acknowledge this journey has not been the smoothest or easiest. I know first hand how painful it can be to see posts like these wondering if and when your time will be. We send our love and strength to other couples who are struggling with fertility or loss."

Talking about Maxwell's form for RCB, the right-handed batter has scored 330 runs from 11 matches this season so far. He played a great innings in RCB's most recent fixture against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium. Riding on his 68 off 33 which was studded with eight boundaries and four sixes, Bangalore posted 199 after being invited to bat first. Maxwell and RCB skipper Faf du Plessis (65 off 41) were involved in a century partnership but as soon as they departed MI made a comeback of sorts and at one stage the total which looked set to well into the 200s, was restricted to a run short.

As it turned out, Maxwell and Du Plessis' knock went in vain as MI chased down the total with 21 balls to spare, thanks to a T20 masterclass from Suryakumar Yadav who scored a blistering 83 off 35 balls.
