After an emphatic win in the series opener against New Zealand Women, the Indian Women side are squaring off against the White Ferns in the second ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (October 26). New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first in this fixture. At one stage,  the New Zealand women's cricket set seemed set to be scoring a massive total with the openers looking good.

While New Zealand were 46/0 after 10 overs, a solid stand which was approaching the 100th run mark. The White Ferns were 87/0 in the 16th over when Deepti Sharma produced a wicket, a breakthrough which belonged as much to the fielder Radha Yadav as much as it did to bowler if not more. While Deepti enticed the batter to go for the shot by bowling a fuller ball outside off, New Zealand's Georgia Plimmer, batting on 41, tried to go for the flick but mistimed the shot and it went towards mid-wicket where Radha came diving in to produce a two-handed catch.

The wicket, as it turned out, broke the momentum and resulted in India getting a few more wickets in quick succession bringing them back into the match big time as they aim to claim the series with a match to go.
