New Delhi: Veteran Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has given us numerous moments of pride with his excellent game and he is regarded as one of the most humble Indian cricketers to grace the field.



In yet another humble gesture, the Delhi-born southpaw has launched a new campaign under the ‘Gautam Gambhir Foundation’ to feed the poor and hungry.



The Gautam Gambhir Foundation promises to beat hunger by serving free food every day from 1PM to 3 PM in Delhi’s West Patel Nagar area.



Announcing his new initiative on Twitter, the 35-year-old wrote, “Won World Cups, Won IPLs,beaten.Now  time 2 win hearts & beat hunger. Community Kitchen #1 by Gautam Gambhir Foundation.”





“Compassion in my heart, a plate in my hand & a prayer on my lips 'No one should sleep hungry' #ggf #communitykitchen1.”





“365 days, 52 weeks, 12 months, numerous hungers & Ek Asha #communitykitchen1 #ggf.”





Gautam Gambhir has represented India in 58 Tests, 147 ODI’s and 37 T20’s and also played a key role in India’s World Cup triumph in 2011.



He has also led IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders to two Indian Premier League titles.
