Gautam Gambhir, on commentary, said that Virat Kohli is 'very immature' and that the Indian captain cannot 'be an idol to youngsters'. Gambhir was talking in response to Kohli's stump-mic outburst in the Cape Town Test.

Gambhir said, “Kohli is very immature. It's worst for an Indian captain to say like this in stumps. By doing this you will never be an idol to youngsters."

So what exactly happened?

South Africa was 60/1 when Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a flighted delivery to the Proteas captain Dean Elgar. Elgar missed a straight ball that got wrapped on the pads. Umpire Marais Erasmus gave that out but the SA skipper asked for a review.

The third-umpire Allahudien Paleker overturned the decision as the trajectory of the ball showed that the ball was going on top of the leg stump.

The Indian team was furious in disbelief as it did not look like the ball would go on to miss the stumps. The entire team started chirping in frustration when Kohli went to the stump mic and said, "Focus on your team while they shine the ball. Not just the opposition. Trying to catch people all the time.”

KL Rahul at the other end said, "Whole country playing against 11 guys."

Take a look at the incident below:

Kohli and the Indian team faced criticism from a lot of people. Gautam Gambhir's response came in the same light. India needs eight wickets to win the Test match while the South Africans need 111 to win and take away the series.

The Test match has come to an interesting position and no one can predict a winner as of Day 4!
