New Delhi: From Antigua via Amsterdam to Bangalore to Ahmedabad to Delhi and then within two hours to Dwarka - that's the hectic life of under-19 World Cup-winning skipper Yash Dhull.
Yash came to Delhi and received a huge welcome from his alma mater Bal Bhavan International School in Dwarka where he met his parents briefly. Later, he headed to catch a flight to join Ranji Trophy teammates from Delhi.
Yash spoke to ABP news amidst his gruelling schedule and said he has no regrets with his life. He also said that he is aware of the challenges he faces from now on after winning the under 19 Word Cup. Dhule who is eager to play for the national team said that his focus is to build on this success and score runs in domestic cricket to get his call up in the Indian team.
When asked about the upcoming IPL auction Dhule said that his immediate focus is not on the IPL season, where he is expected to fetch a good price but on first-class cricket.
Aware that two precious Delhi-bound skippers Virat Kohli and Unmukt Chand have gone diverse ways while graduating, Yash seems confident in following Virat's footsteps.
A man of very few words, Yash said during the time he was down with Covid, VVS Laxman, and coach Kanitkar would keep talking to him to ensure there are no doubts creeping into his mind and he remains focused on the knockout matches.
The Indian U-19 team led by Yash Dhull won the 2022 ICC U19 World Cup in Antigua on Sunday, after beating England by 4 wickets.
