Left-hand English batsman Dawid Malan has been called up for the first of the 3-match T20I series against England starting from July 3.

The 30-year-old cricketer will replace speedster Tom Curran who sustained a minor side strain and won't be available for the first face-off at Old Trafford.

Despite having several bowling options in their group, the English team management went for malan who has an impressive record in this format. He has scored four half-centuries in five matches in his career.

On the other hand, Curran is expected to be fit for the second and third matches of the series at Cardiff and Bristol respectively.

Malan debuted for England in June 2017 against South Africa where he smashed a blistering 78 from 44 balls. He has an average of 50 in T20I cricket with a strike rate of 150.
