England vs West Indies T20I Series: England beat West Indies in the fourth T20I of the five-match series by 75 runs in Tarouba on Tuesday (December 19). The win by the visitors means that the bilateral series now stands levelled at 2-2. While the Three Lions batted first and scored  massive 267/3, in response, the home team were bowled out 192. Phil Salt was the real start of the match and scored a sensational hundred, scoring 119 off 57 deliveries. 



In addition, Jos Buttler scored 55 off 29 deliveries while Liam Livingstone also made 54 off 21. As many as 19 sixes were hit in the England innings alone while another 14 were hit in the West Indian innings. With this, the England vs West Indies T20I series became the first-ever bilateral series to see over 100 sixes getting smashed in it. It has been a batters paradies this series as it would suggest.

The series opener in the England vs West Indies series witnessed 20 sixes being smashd by both the sides in total in which West Indies came out on top by 4 wickets. In the very next T20I, 21 sixes were hit with the home team taking a 2-0 lead in the 5-match series. Then England went on to win the next two matches with 34 sixes in the third T20I alone to go with the 33 in the fourth T20I to take the total of number of maximums to 108 in the T20I series with still a match to be played. The previous record for most number of sixes hit in a bilateral series was 97 sixes which was hit in the series between Bulgaria and Serbia in 2022 in which four T20I matches were played.

The two teams who famously met in the finals of the 2016 T20 World Cup produced another high six-hitting series when they met in 2022. On that occasion too, it was a five-match series. The series witnessed 96 sixes.
