The Pakistan pacers asked tough questions from the English batsmen but Joe Root (18*) and Dom Sibley (26*) showed some resistance to help England reach 55 for the loss of one wicket at Lunch on Day four of the first Test at Old Trafford on Saturday.


The hosts now need another 222 runs to win the 1st test while Pakistan will look to pick the remaining nine wickets to bag an historic away victory.

On the start of day 4, star all-rounder Jofra Archer bowled a brilliant delivery to bag the final wicket and bowl Pakistan out for 169 as they managed to add just 32 runs to their overnight total.


England openers Rory Burns and Dom Sibley came out in the middle to start the proceedings for England and chase down 277-run target to win the first Test.

Both English openers were finding it really hard to score runs through the opening spell of Abbas and Afridi. The Pakistani bowlers bowled tight lines and kept a tight grip of the English batters.

Burns and Sibley batted cautiously as they helped their team reach 22 after batting for first 11 overs The duo looked to extend their partnership but their plans were spoiled by speedster Mohammad Abbas as he got the breakthrough by trapping Rory Burns (10) in front of the stumps for LBW.

Skipper Joe Root was the next man to the crease and batted well to propel his team to 55/1 at Lunch.
