English skipper Joe Root has announced a 12-man squad for the 2nd Test against India at Lord’s on Thursday. However, the final playing XI is yet to be decided as the skipper the confirm the same at the time of the toss.
The English skipper has confirmed that Surrey batsman Ollie Pope will receive his first cap batting at No. 4. He will be replacing Dawid Malan from the side that won the first Test by 31 runs at Edgbaston.
On the other hand, seamer Jamie Porter is not been included. It is yet to be decided whether Moeen Ali or Chris Woakes will replace Ben Stokes.

Earlier on Sunday, England announced a 13-member squad for the second Test.
All-rounder Ben Stokes, who was one of the heroes of Birmingham Test, wasn’t included in the side as he is dealing with his court trials for affray charges. Apart from Stokes, batsman Dawid Malan was also axed following his poor performance with the bat during the Birmingham Test. Malan scored 8 and 20 in the first Test and now has an average of mere 19 in 12 innings.
