The South Africa Cricket team has faced another major setback before their upcoming tour to Australia. After opener Hashim Alma, the team's all-rounder JP Duminy has been ruled out of the team due to an injury. According to Cricket South Africa, Duminy will undergo surgery due to the injury he suffered on his right shoulder.

“JP aggravated a pre-existing shoulder injury during the recently concluded series against Zimbabwe,” South Africa team manager Mohammed Moosajee said on the International Cricket Council website.

The injury not only cost him the Australian tour, but Duminy has also been ruled out from the MCJ Super League. JP Duminy was meant to play for the Cape Town Blitz's team in the much popular T20 League.

The South African team will tour Australia for a T20 and three ODIs next month. In such situation, South Africa will have to find an alternative for JP Duminy.

Earlier, Hashim Alma had to withdraw from the team on the tour to Australia due to injury in the finger which he sustained during the Caribbean Premier League. Dean Algar, who was used as Amla’s replacement for Zimbabwe’s tour, was not given another chance after a disappointing performance in the first two matches.

In such situation, the South African team can include Reza Hendrix and Aden Markram in the team as they performed quite well during the Zimbabwe Tour.
